Frequently Asked Questions

What are the time commitments for members of the workgroups?

BOOST Delaware is comprised of individuals and organizations who work in unison to educate and provide for our community. On average BOOST Delaware members meet for 1.5 hours bi-weekly to discuss updates, event information, legislation updates, community involvement, etc.

Who can get involved in BOOST Delaware?

It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.

Do I need experience in environmental or economic justice in order to be involved?

BOOST Delaware does not have an age restriction on membership. However, all of the workgroups may require some travel for potential training sessions, events, meetings, and social gatherings. If feasible, members may offer to carpool with others. If you are under the age of 18 we will require a parent’s permission to carpool with another BOOST member. We operate on a hybrid level. The majority of meetings are held via Zoom but depending on the climate and comfort level of the members we may have a few in-person meetings/ events.

What is the difference between being in a workgroup versus a general member?

BOOST Delaware workgroups are subgroups within BOOST that focus on particular aspects of our chapter. These subgroups include all three counties so you can get involved in the county you live or attend school in. Only workgroup representatives have the ability to vote in meetings.

Can I receive college credit for my involvement in BOOST Delaware?

All credit approvals are based on the college or university academic department. Even if you cannot gain an internship credit for your consistent engagement in BOOST; You can still gain volunteer hours and professional development opportunities.
